Segi Bella and Segilola are both Segi handmade brands. All handmades are family designed, made in our home-workshops and with in-house equipments. They’re not factory, third-party, or bulk manufactured. All handmades are one of a kind. We don’t knowingly copy shape + design + material combinations from others or from ourselves. We don’t make the same exact bag twice (unless it’s a limited quantity shopping canvas or basket).

Segi doesn’t wrap existing bags from other brands with Ankara or Adire materials. Our full construction and branded bags are handmade with the highest quality Ankara or Adire materials sold in Lagos, Nigeria. Bags are lined with top grade polyester, nylon, and leather. They’re shaped and strengthened to last with quality fabric stabilizer and fiber wall inserts. All hardware, finishes, and original design additions are also of the highest quality, to last with the bag and uses. Every bag is inspected and safely packaged in a free reusable custom Segi canvas/sack (prelaunch bags used generic sacks). Bags are further protected with paper and bubble wrapping if shipped.

The Segi Bella brand expanded into handmade home decor in 2022. All handmade decor items are family designed, made in our home-workshops and with in-house equipments. The Segilola brand expanded into handmade ready-to-wear casual African clothing for men, women, and kids in 2022. Fashion handmades are made in our home-workshops and with in-house equipments. Our handmade African clothing is made with the highest quality Ankara or Adire materials sold in Lagos, Nigeria. All handmade fashion items are inspected and safely packaged, and further protected with paper wrapping if shipped. Clothing items are machine washable. Original Segi Bella or Segilola branded fashions are only sold directly through the Segi Shop website. A select few options are also sold on Etsy, Amazon Handmade, and at DMV Market events.

Sizes of decor items listed in descriptions are approximate and are measured as the overall width laying down flat. The actual size may vary as the decor products we sell are handmade.

Due to variations of color settings and qualities of phone/tablet/computer screens, it is unavoidable that colors will appear differently for everyone. The colors in photos and named descriptors (e.g. “blue”, “dark blue”) are subjective, approximate, and may also vary. Most African fabrics have multiple colors in the print and we may not capture every color in the product description or attribute.
